What does thriving even look like? I believe it’s an art, not a science and it can change depending on the season you’re in.
In some seasons life can be full of motivation, activity, productivity, crushing goals and boundless energy. In other seasons thriving looks like slowing down, doing the hard inner work, not giving up and still choosing to show up.
Thriving for you may look different in this season than it did for you a year ago. That’s okay.
Whatever season you’re in I hope you’ll choose today to keep showing up where you are. Be present in your body and your life (it can be so tempting to become numb to things or just go through the motions). And as Emily P. Freeman always says, “Do the next right thing, in love.”
My next right things look like this:
Each day I’m asking God to show me how to love and serve those He puts in my path or on my heart. Send the text when someone comes to mind or take the meal to a friend who is grieving.
My priority right now is to tend to the current needs of my family. That means investing in a parenting class and the counselor. It means investing in my kids activities that bring them flourishing.
I’m working to be faithful with the business I have and do the inner work of a leader. I’m attempting to stay present to where He may be at work and leading me which means I have to have times of quiet and margin to be aware of what God might be saying to me. And I’m working to be okay with the slower pace I’m moving at.
This is thriving to me right now. What comes to mind for you? What does thriving mean for you in this season?
