We’re so glad you’re here. Our names are Matt and Jody. We’re incredibly normal people.
If you’re like us you’ve realized that life can be difficult, tiring, and downright painful.
A while back we realized that our life had become overwhelming. We were both completely burnt out and desperate to escape. Our jobs were grueling, parenting was exhausting and life in general was difficult.
Every day it seemed a new problem surfaced that we were unprepared to deal with. I like to think we sort of wandered around looking for glimpses of hope and rest in the midst of it all. In reality we binge watched the West Wing in hopes that escaping for a couple of hours might change things. Wishful thinking.
At some point we made a conscious decision to set out to try and bring some life back in to our weary bones and emotions. We held on to a belief that life is meant to be lived differently than the way most of us are experiencing it. We’ve learned a lot along the way and The Art of Thriving hopefully shares a lot of journey.
We’ll share the raw and a work in progress type stuff. We recognize that not everything may resonate with you, because there is no cookie cutter formula for living life well. Our hope is that perhaps our story might encourage you to take a step toward experiencing life differently.
We have two children and a house that was built in 1923 in the heart of Portland, Oregon. We’re passionate about helping others grow and live a great story.
